Spring is Here! Lets get to it!!!

The cold weather is finally behind us, and we’re thrilled to have made significant progress on the ballfields as soon as we could. However, this spring has brought an unexpected challenge with its persistent wet conditions, which made it difficult to accomplish much due to the softness of the ground.

Despite these setbacks, we successfully installed temporary outfield fencing and tidied up the upper ballfield. This fencing not only gives the kids a sense of the field's dimensions but also adds to the excitement of the game—who wouldn’t love to see a HOME RUN?!

We still had about half of the ballfield clay left to spread, and while it was a tough task, our team worked diligently to get it done. We had originally hoped to complete this last fall, but time slipped away from us. When spring arrived, the ground was so soft that it resembled wet concrete when we tried to work with it. We essentially poured the clay onto the field and raked it out to make it usable. After a few days of effort, we were able to drag and roll the clay to achieve a fantastic consistency. We even had the chance to lay down the first lines, giving us a glimpse of how the field will look. It’s truly exciting!
